Jammu, July 9: Various organizations namely Jammu Kashmir Chapter of All India Ayurvedic Congress, Ayurvedic Society for Health Awareness (ASHA) and members of civil society have extended their moral support to unemployed Ayurvedic Doctors, who are protesting and have to intensify their struggle in support of their demands including jobs in health department. According to joint press statement the speakers from different organizations stated that despite separate State Level Directorate for the last nearly 27 years, AYUSH sector in our state is in its pathetic and miserable existence, largely due to policy of neglect and discrimination on part of State Government. They also pin pointed that policy of administrative inertia on part of Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicines have added miseries for the Ayurveda doctors. In the interests of promotion of Ayurvedic System in general and Ayurvedic Doctors in particular, the speakers impressed upon state Government to bifurcate State Level Directorate with separate Provincial Directorates for both Ayurveda and Unani; new institutions in every District, new posts be created for AYUSH Units, State Level Pharmacy and Govt Ayurvedic Colleges buildings which already stand completed with GOI financial help, be commissioned at the earliest without any further delay and two posts of B grade Specialist for each District to be sanctioned. Other demands highlighted on this occasion included sanctioning of dispensaries creation of administrative staff for newly created Districts and etc. |
