Poonch, July 9: President of the Development Poonch Youth Organization (DPYO) Advocate Ronik Sharma criticized the railway budget of 2014-2015 tabled by the Union Railway Minister Sadanand Gowda for ignoring and total discrimination with the people of Rajouri- Poonch districts.
"There was no mention for Jammu-Rajouri- Poonch railway line that will also help in the economic, development of large number of population, recruitments for youths of backward and hilly areas in the region, he stated
He said if given nod, the project is an important rail link that will also boost the tourism sector and connect some famous sacred places like Shahdrah Sharief Ziarat Rajouri, Dera Baba Nangali Shahib , Shri Budha Amarnath ji in poonch districts and also strategic areas all along the Line of Control.
Earlier in UPA II, the then Union Railways Ministry had ordered survey on Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch Railway Line which even had found it possible, he said while reminding from the past.
He said, "it is surprising the present Railway Budget presented by present incumbent- the Union Railway Minister has shelved again the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch railway line resons better known to him.
He said the people the twin border district Rajouri - Poonch reiterate their demand to reconsider the Railway Project as early as possible in the interest of the people of the area and should be taken up on priority with special financial provisions from the Union Government. |
