Early Times Report
Jammu, July 9 : Commenting on reports of allocation of Rs. 700 crores for improvement of Jammu's power scenario, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder member Deep Singh said that in presence of a total mismanagement at ministerial level and corruption from bottom to neck in Power Development department, the major part of said allocated amount would be diverted to the pockets of the corrupt machinery. He further said that the state coalition government instead of its needed sincere efforts to explore the solutions of day to day public related problems, has just preferred to work on the "beating about the bush" policy having no impact except media publicity and befooling masses. "Despite hard working and a honest approach, Chief Engineer PDD Jammu failed to check the huge power theft and corruption within the department due to corruption within the ministry and the inactive approach of state coalition government", Deep Singh further alleged. He further said, thousands of casual labors, daily wagers and retired personals are working with department on power theft management of department as it is unable to pay the monthly salaries".So far the role of civil society is concerned; it was/is instead of an honest and dedicated approach, always merely based on hue and cry, Deep Singh stated. He further said that merely allocation of funds would not serve the purpose in absence of a needed will of the state government to check and stop the huge corruption, Deep Singh concluded. |
