Samba, July 9 : District Development Commissioner Samba, RK Varma on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of village Sarmal Panchayat Utterbeni of Samba district to take stock grievances of the people besides reviewing status of ongoing development works in the area. The DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Pradeep Manhas, Tehsildar Samba Tarsem Lal, Executive Engineer PWD/PHE/PDD Assistant Director Food Supply and heads of various departments. The DDC held public grievances camp at Sarmal village, people in large number including Sarpanchs ,Panchs participated in the Camp and projected their demands and problems pertaining to, repairing of roads/road connectivity to adjoining areas, proper supply of electricity/repairing of old wires and poles,the availability of drinking water, repairing of Water supply pipes, requirement of crates, problems of wild animals etc. The DDC listened to the demands and problems being faced by the people patiently and assured them that all their issues would be redressed in a time bound manner. He instructed all the heads of the departments to work with missionary zeal and dedication for resolving the issues of people leaving no space for complains. Speaking on the occasion, DDC said the motive behind holding such meetings was to have firsthand knowledge about the problems of the people so that needful can be done to mitigate their sufferings. He called upon Panchayat representatives to play their role in making people aware of different Government schemes as being nearer to people they are in a better position to serve their respective areas by properly identifying and executing the development works and welfare schemes. He exhorted upon the officers to ensure that benefits of various development and welfare schemes reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about different State and Centrally sponsored schemes viz. MGNREGA, IAY, etc and stressed upon the Panches and Sarpanches to render their services with utmost zeal and dedication. Among others Sarpanchs, Panchs and people in large number attended the camp. |
