| Srinagar, July 9: A large number of poets of four regional languages viz. Kashmiri, Urdu, Gojri and Pahari participated in a series of Hamdiya-o-Naatiya Mushiaras organized Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in Srinagar. According to spokesperson of JKACL, Srinagar, a Gojri poetic meet was organized in connection with ongoing series of Hamdiya -o- Natiya Mushaira here today. Today's ceremony was presided over by noted Gojri poet and intellectual Ch Qaiser-u-din Qaiser while prominent Gojri writer and poet Ch Iqbal Azeem also shared dais with him.In his welcome address, Secretary Academy Haroon Rashid presented brief resume of the activities which the Academy is undergoing for preservation and development of various languages including Gojri.Dr Javaid Rahi Chief Editor and head of the Gojri wing stated on the occasion that the Gojri has a rich tradition of Hamad and Naat and we will publish a Hamad o Naat number in coming issue of bi monthly Sheeraza Gojri. Prominent who recited their works today's session include Iqbal Azeem, Abdul Gani Arif, Gulabudin Jaza, Alam Shah Khaki, M Rafiq Zakhmi, M Idres Shad, Wajid Kaif, Ab Rashid Naaz, Mian Ayaz Ahmad, Mian Mukhtar Ahmad, Mian Karamat Ali, Khadim Hussain Shabnum, Khalid Mushtaq, Lal Din Shakib, Syed Sikander Shah, Nazir Hussain and Ch. Kaiser-u-din Kaiser. Earlier Ch Qaiser-u-din Qaiser in his address appreciated the Academy for organizing such function which has provided an opportunity of interacting between the youngsters and masters of the Gojri poetry. The proceedings of Mushaira were conducted by Dr Shahnawaz. |
