JAMMU, Aug 7: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, today declared open the 2nd edition of the Christmas Twenty20 Cricket Cup KC Public School ground, here. In total 16 teams shall compete for the top honours in this knock-out tournament, organised by Christian Sports Organisation (CSO) in association with J&K Police under Civic Action Programme. Chairman of the CSO, Fr. Kuriakose was guest of honour. Prominent among others present were SO to DIG, SP, Rajnish Pran, Parshotam Sharma, Rajesh Gill and Prashant Mahajan. As also chairman of KC Public School, Sudershan Mahajan, Sanjay Mahajan, Nicodemus, Asif Gill and William Matoo. Speaking to the gathering, after releasing the fixture of the competition, the chief guest laid emphasis on sporting talent among the youth. He asked the participating teams to compete in true spirit of sports so as to make the event a grand success. The participating teams included Eleven Star, Jammu Zymkhana, JKP XI, Sai Cricket Club, Simula Cricket XI, Samar Club, KC Sports Club, Satwari Cantonment, Rainawari Club, Christian Sports, K Club Srinagar, H Club Srinagar, Bathindi Club, Rehari Jammu, B Club Srinagar, and Delhi Cricket Club. |
