Jammu, Aug 7: Reiterating resolve of his party to establish a new system of justice and equality in the State, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that aim of his party is to script a new chapter in the political history of J&K by removing trust deficit among different regions. Addressing an impressive function here this evening in support of party candidate Daman Bhasin, who is contesting from Jammu West assembly segment, Mufti said that PDP is a cementing force to unite all regions and sub-regions of the State. "Attaining power is not the ultimate goal of PDP, we want to play a historic role to change destiny of the people of J&K by setting up a new system where every individual would get equal opportunity of growth and development", he said and added that PDP, unlike other political parties, has never indulged into double speak to hoodwink the people for petty political gains. "Earning faith and trust of the people of J&K is the biggest achievement of PDP", he said and added that PDP leadership, through it conviction and commitment, has earned credibility of the common masses. Mufti said that PDP during its tenure had proved to how to deliver good govern and how to establish transparency and accountability in the governance. "I don't want to praise myself but people of the State now comparing our achievements with the decades long mis-governance of successive National Conference regimes", he said and added that PDP-Congress regime in the State had established a system of governance which earned faith and acceptability of the common masses. "PDP during its tenure had not only created a sense of security among the people but also restored dignity of the common masses by pioneering and implementing peace and reconciliation policies", he said. Drabu, while seeking support for party candidate Daman Bhasin, said that there was a need to elect mature politicians like Bhasin who have potential to connect themselves with common masses. Sardar Rangil Singh, Yash Pal Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Shanti Devi, Hamid Choudhary, Hussain Ali Waffa, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, R K Bali, Ashok Jogi, Capt Anil Gour, Suresh Sharma, Puneet Jamwal, Surjeet Kour, Vikas Bhatti, Ashok Siddah, Vijay Raina, Anju Bhan, Kavita Sharma, Geeta Thakur, Ritu Gupta, Ashutosh Kapoor, Mushtaq, Sham bhagat and others were present on the occasion. |
