Jammu, Aug 7: National Secular Forum (NSF), Jammu Unit today paid rich tributes to the Rabindranath Tagore organized a programme in University Campus, on his death anniversary. Ankush Abrol JKCA Working Committee Member & NC Sr.Leader was the chief guest while Dr.Vikas Sharma, presided over the function. Sukhdev Singh President NSF was the guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion Ankush Abrol JKCA Working Committee Member & NC Sr leader appreciated the initiative taken by the NSF member to remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the of the Country. He also stressed upon the youth to shun their self centered outlook and contribute in the development of the nation. He also said Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) was a Bengali poet, philosopher, artist, playwright, composer and novelist. India's first Nobel laureate, Tagore won the 1913 Nobel Prize for Literature. He composed the text of both India's and Bangladesh's respective national anthems. Dr. Vikas Sharma appreciated the efforts of NSF member to remember the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He appealed to the youth to come forward to eliminate all evils from the society. His legacy prompted youth in India to begin fighting for Indian independence and also increased the rise of socialism in India. |
