KISHTWAR, Aug 7: In order to revisit the centuries old Padder- Ladakh trekking route used by General Zorawar Singh in the 18th century, a group of six French tourists including two women began trekking from Atholi (Paddar) to Loma in (Kargil) from today. The Padder-Loma trekking route passed through Omasila glacier situated at the height of over 16000 feet above sea level while heights of certain mountains falling on this tracking route range from 17000 to 17500 feet above sea level. Meanwhile, another foreigner hailing from Germany who also arrived from Srinagar yesterday via Sinthan top on Motor cycle had also started his motorcycle journey to Delhi via Padder- Himachal Pradesh. Padder-Pangi-Sach pass-Shimla route has also historical importance and act as a defense route for various forces who rule Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir in past and many tourist in past also explore this route for trekking. |
