One held, 11 bovines rescued

Jammu, Aug 7: Police have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one person while rescuing atleast eleven animals which were being illegal smuggled in Gandoh of Doda district, police said.
The accused has been identified namely as Mohd Yaqoob s/o Mohd Ramzan r/o Samaie Sarliya Gandoh of Doda district, Police spokesperson said, "Following a tip regarding bovine smuggling, a police party from Police Station Gandoh intercepted one person namely Mohd Yaqoob of Gandoh in Doda.
The accused failed to provide required documents to transport animals following which police arrested him on the spot and rescued eleven (11) bovine from his possession." Police said that a case FIR No. 91/2014 u/s 188 RPC stands registered against the accused person at Police Station Gandoh and further investigation of the case is in progress.
