IAF to celebrate its 82nd Anniversary on Oct 8 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 6 : Indian Air Force (IAF) is going to celebrate its 82nd Anniversary on October 8, 2014. As a part of IAF' 82nd Anniversary celebrations and silver Jubilee celebrations of 1965 War, Air Force Station Jammu also known as 'Guardians of J&K', has been organizing a number of events depicting force projection, attracting youth to join IAF, delivering on social responsibility, promoting health and welfare of its personnel and their families. Symbolizing the IAF anniversary October 8, an eight kilometres health run christened as 'Eight on Eight' was organized on October 5, 2014. All Air warriors, DSC Jawans, Defence Civilians and their families including ladies and children participated in large numbers to promote health and fitness as a way of life. Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Cmde Ashutosh Lal, VM led the initiative and the entire station personnel completed designated eight kilometres run. All participants especially the children, exhibited absolute zest and commitment towards the cause. Excellent administrative arrangements on the part of organising team helped contribute towards the success of the event. The run enthused the feeling of pride and belongingness among the personnel and families. On the culmination of event, AOC thanked the gathering for whole hearted participation and supporting the health and fitness as a social responsibility. He congratulated all the personnel and their families for taking being part in the anniversary celebrations of IAF. |
