| While people get killed BJP leaders pursue their own personal agendas | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 6: After getting votes from the residents of Jammu region the "pro-claimed pro-Jammu party" BJP has started showing back to the people of Jammu at the time of crisis. When border residents of Jammu were in blood bath due to unprovoked firing from Pakistani side, the BJP leaders were inaugurating office of its Kashmir (displaced) unit. BJP leaders visited Government Medical College (GMC) where firing victims were shifted and ill-fated Arnia village for photo session to get cheap publicity but they have to heal wounds of the people. After formation of BJP led NDA government at the Centre, killing of the people due to firing from across the border has become a routine affairs but state unit of BJP has failed to effectively take up this the union government to provide alternative land to the border people at safer places. During campaign of the Lok Sabha elections, BJP leaders had promised to settle all issues of border people within 100 days but even after passing of nearly four and half months, the party leadership has even failed to bring this issue to the notice of its central leadersip. On August 25, when national president of the BJP, Amit Shah had visited border areas this issue was brought into his notice. In the presence of state leadership, Amit Shah had asked local leaders to come to Delhi so that this problem of the border residents should be solved but during the last one month none of the local BJP leader has followed this issue. Instead of convince the high command to solve some problems of the border residents, most of the BJP leaders are these days more particular about getting mandates for themselves, their supporters or family members. After a lull of nearly one month, Pakistan has again started unprovoked firing but State BJP leaders have not initiate any step during the last one month to remind its national president to mount pressure on the Central government to provide alternative land to the border residents at safer places. Insiders in the BJP said that national president of party Amit Shah had promised that Centre government would seriously look into the demand of providing alternative land to the border residents at safer places but he had asked local leaders to rigorously follow this issue. But the State leaders are more concerned about their personal interests instead of solving general issues. |
