| Muslims want world to take cognizance of Pak action | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 6: Pakistan has been exposed before Muslim world for resorting to heavy shelling in border belt of Jammu and Kashmir depriving thousand sof Muslims to celebrate the Eid -ul-Zuha festival and take part in Eid prayers at their respective Eidgahs and mosques.
According to reports thousands of people in Balakote area of Mendhar in Poonch district could not participate in Eid prayers due to heavy firing from Pakstian side from early this morning to 2 pm in the afternoon. The people of the area who had left for Eid celebrations in their respective mosques and Eidgahs in the area were trapped in the way as they could not take part in the prayers.
It was only after 2pm this afternoon when the shelling stopped the people left for their homes. The panic gripped entire area and the
people waiting to receive their relatives and friends and distribute gifts etc were running helter-skelter for the safety of their lives.
Reports said that people took refuge in fields and beneath the trees and left only after the firing stopped. ``We could not celebrate the Eid this time and particiatpe in Eid prayers at Eidgah after Pakistan resorted to heavy firing from early morning'', said Farid-u-Din a local resident of Balakote.
He said this is unfortunate that Pakistan resorted to firing on Indian boirders knowing fully that people in the State have already suffered a heavy loss due to flash floods and it will be totally inhuman if the people who are in distress will be put into more trouble.
He said Pakistan has been exposed in entire globe for its inhuman activities and it can never be sympathizer of Muslims otherwise it would have never resorted to shelling on the holy festival and deprived the thousands of Muslims of Eid celebrations in the State.
Not only Farid but Sheikh Vikar a resident of border area in Mendhar Sector said that India should take up the issue with world body and force it to impose sanctions against Pakistan for its misadventures. In olden days even some principles were maintained during war also by the warring countries and it is unfortunate that in this modern world all such principles have been thrown to winds by Pak and the world needs to take cognizance of the same.
Vikar has made an appeal to Muslims of the State to launch a Jehad against Pakistan as it is the worst enemy of Muslims of J&K. He said that Kashmiris who are already in trouble as a lot of devastation has taken place there due to floods but Pakistan still did not spare them and continued shelling on the borders. |
