| Protest against MLA, police for shielding accused; CM too feels blaze | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 6: A protest demonstration was held against MLA and police for shielding the alleged accused who assaulted on Sikh youth last Sunday. The protestors blocked the National Highway at Digiana for an hour, forcing agencies to divert the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's cavalcade from the Highway while he was on his way to Jammu back from Arnia sub sector after visiting aggrieved families who lost their loved one in Pak firing. The protestors alleged that police is yielding to political pressure and have failed to arrest the the accused, despite the FIR stands lodged. They alleged that MLA Suchetgarh constituency Sham Choudhary was building pressure on police to not secure the arrest of the accused being his son and nephew. The vehicular movement remained paralyzed till SSP Jammu Uttam Chand pacified the protestors and assured them about immediate action by police in this regard. Meanwhile SSP Uttam Chand when contacted said that the law will take its own course as whosoever is involved in the criminal activities will be booked under law of land. Pertinently, two youth namely Sharan Choudhary and Viky Choudhary were booked by police after they assaulted on one Ranjit Singh son of Bachiter Singh of Digiana on last Sunday morning. |
