JAMMU, Oct 6: Benia of Jammu and Kashmir Police clinched the 12th edition of the Domana Kesari dangal, organized by management committee of Baba Shah Akhara Domana in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, at Domana, near here. Benia defeated Mohnu Paul of Patiala in Punjab in the main bout that lasted for 13 minutes. Benia was presented with a cash prize of Rs 35,000 while runners-up, Mohnu received Rs 21,000 from the special invitees. Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Kiran Wattal was chief guest while president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided. Prominent among others present were Naib Tehsildar, Murad Ali Khan, SHO, Jai Paul Sharma and retired SP, Prithvi Raj Sharma, Virender Sharma, Sarpanch Babishan Singh, Sarpanch Rehmat Ali, Madan Lal Gupta, Balkar Pehalwan, and Dheeraj Sharma. Earlier, 60 bouts were decided in this day-long event. The second main bout went to Kaka of R S Pura, who beat Gurmail of Chandigarh thereby received cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 6,000 respectively. Another second bout between Yodha of Attari and Farooq Ahmed of Sarore in Jammu ended in walkover. Both these wrestlers shared Rs 16,000 cash prize. Members and technical officials who helped in the successful conduct of this dangal included Raj Hussain (president), Sarpanch Shamsher Singh, Yash Paul Seth, Dr. Darshan Singh, Rajinder Seth, Butto Khan, Surma Singh Chib, Balraj Sharma, Natha Ram, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Om Parkash Sharma, Parveen Yadav, Mahd. Fareed, Allah Mai (Ranga), Shamsher Singh, Bittu Raina, Virender Sharma, P.R Sharma, Darshan Lal, Romesh Chander and Murli Dhar. Other Results: Mohd.
