| Social activist chairs meeting to discuss problems of workers | | | Early Times Report
kathua, Oct 9:Social activist Ankur Sharma and his team held a meeting of workers of the industrial area, Kathua at Ramnagar Kathua and discussed various problems being faced by the people of Ramnagar as well as the workers employed in the Industrial area Kathua.Speaking on the occasion, Ankur Sharma assured of all legal and organizational help to the workers in the formation of a Worker's Union to fight against the exploitation meted out to them on day today basis. The meeting discussed demands like Contractor System, low wages, contractual labor, and problems related to bonus etc prevalent in industrial sector.
During the meeting, the gathering was made aware about their fundamental rights to form legal associations. Further taking the cause of pollution by Industrial units in violation of pollution norms, Ankur and his team discussed the prospects of taking the matter to the High Court though the route of a Public Interest Litigation.
