| Exams for Judicial, Planning posts after Nov 15 | | | Akshay Azad JAMMU, Oct 9: Various competitive State Civil Services examinations, which were postponed by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), due to flash floods in Kashmir valley, are likely to be held only after November 15. Sources in the JKPSC informed Early Times that apart from Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) preliminary, the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service (Judicial) competitive preliminary examination and Assistant Director (Statistics cum Evaluation) Service Competition examination were also scheduled to be held in September and October month respectively. After devastating floods which hit Valley in the beginning of September 2014, all the competitive exams were postponed by JKPSC, by issuing a notification in this regard, but no new notification has been issued so far. "We are getting no information from the authorities, regarding the new dates of examination", an aspirant Mohammad Younus said, adding that even there was no word from authorities, about the probability of conducting the examination. A higher official in JKPSC, wishing anonymity said that they had not space and have to rely on Government Degree Colleges for space but due to floods, majority of colleges were in total pathetic condition and it was not possible to conduct exams. "We are in regular touch with college authorities and it seemed that it will only be possible after November 15 to conduct the exams", he said, adding that once they would get reports from colleges about availability of space, a notification would be issued. About the delay in issuing notification, he said that after the space would be available to conduct the exams, notification with dates of KCS Judicial (Preliminary) and AD Planning (Mains) and KAS (Preliminary) exams would be issued by authorities. |
