| Intra village cricket tournament held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 9: Rashtriya Rifles Big Bash (RRBB) Intra Village Cricket Tournament was inaugurated by Jhangar Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Uniform Force with an aim to identify and promote budding cricketers from the far flung areas of Naushera Tehsil.
A total of six teams from the Naushera Tehsil are participating in the tournament which will be held as per Twenty-Twenty format on league cum knockout basis.
Sunil Chandan, a class XII enthusiastic student of Government Higher Secondary School, Bhawani said that it will motivate the youth to choose sports as their career and cultivate competitive spirit and spirit-de-corps. As a result, numerous requests have been received from villagers to organize such activities.
The tournament has witnessed an overwhelming response and has turned out to be a crowed puller. The youth and locals of the area were extremely happy since it also diverted their attention from the devastation caused by the floods.
The same is evident from the large gathering of locals and civil dignitaries during inauguration ceremony and the enthusiastic participants. With reputation at stake, each team had put in their best. |
