| Civilians, livestock bearing brunt of ceasefire violations: Hamid Choudhary | | | | Jammu, Oct 9: Describing border developments all along Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) from where people in thousands of numbers have migrated to safer places as 'unfortunate', People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Chief Election Coordinator for Jammu Province, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that rising tension with Pakistan has caused very serious concern in entire state. The state government while should take care of affected villagers and provide them food and shelter at safer places, central government must also put in its efforts to calm borders and convince Pakistan to hold a meaningful dialogue aimed at dawning peace in the entire sub-continent. Today when borders have become alive with shelling and firing, innocent civilians and livestock are bearing the brunt of this ceasefire violation, he said.The PDP leaders said that from here onwards the task is going to be quite tough. Since all the efforts have come crashing both India and Pakistan will have to start afresh. People belonging to many frontier villages who have migrated must be taken care of and provided with all the facilities including medical aid. He hoped that early resolution of this issue over which Centre is working hard as well, will enable people to return to their homes and hearths soon. People, he said have already suffered excessive losses and their standing crops are also damaged. Expressing his sympathies with those families who have lost their dear ones in cross border firing and those who are injured, Choudhary Hamid asked government to not to house these people in temporary tents and instead shift them to community halls so that they don't face harsh weather conditions in days to come. He also sought disbursement of relief, ration and clothing's amongst these people immediately. |
