Two nomad women allegedly gang-raped by four persons in Majalta

Udhampur, Oct 9: Two nomad women were allegedly gang-raped by four persons in Majalta of Udhampur district, police sources said. Police got statement of the both victims recorded infront of 1st class Magistrate, Munsiff Majlata u/s 164 CrPC.According to police sources, victim alongwith family members and their livestock were coming down from hills to their native town as the annual transition.
According to the complainants, the victims along with family members took rest near Karkai village near Mansar and after taking rest the duo took their cattle to nearby jungle for grazing where accused over powered them and took them to isolated place where the accused committed rape upon them throughout night.
The accused also have threatened them to kill, the complainant has stated.Quoting victims, police sources said, "The next morning both victims managed to escape from the clutches of their abductors and narrated whole episode to their family members who were desperately searching for them.On hearing their woeful story, family members of victims approached the nearby Police Station Majlata where they lodged complaint therein alleging that four persons identified as Altaf, Harun, Ishtaq Ali (sons of Haji Said Gulam) and Anwar son of Sardar all hailing from Nud Samba have committed rape upon the victims (name withheld). A case u/s 376/342 CrPC stands registered against the accused and manhunt is on to nab them, police sources said.
Taking the cognizance in this regard, the police got medical examination conducted by team of doctors at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Majlata of both victims and today police also got statement of the both victims recorded infront of 1st class Magistrate, Munsiff Majlata under section 164 CrPC. Meanwhile police sources said the further investigation in on in this regard.
