| New Delhi tells troops to mount pressure till Pak guns fall silent | | | Jammu, Oct 9: While India and Pakistan continue to level allegations and counter allegations on ceasefire violation New Delhi is opposed to reporting the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistan to the United Nations Military Observers Group (UNMOG). Official sources said that since India has stopped recognizing the UNMOG for its partial role in the past New Delhi is in no mood to report ceasefire violations to the UNMOG. Against this Islamabad has, despite its repeated ceasefire violations, reported the issue to the UNMOG on Tuesday. Pakistan did so when it's Army and the Rangers felt the pinch of Indian retaliatory action. Sources said that New Delhi sees in Islamabad's bid to take up the ceasefire violations issue with the UNMOG as an attempt at further internationalizing the Kashmir issue. According to these sources, India has stopped granting any recognition to the UNMOG since a long time and in July 2014 the Government of India told the UNMOG officials to vacate the house where they had set up the headquarters in New Delhi. Sources said that after New Delhi adopted very tough postures by retaliating hard, killing over 17 people in Pakistan during the last 48 hours, Islamabad had sought a meeting between the DGMOs of the two countries which also New Delhi rejected. And New Delhi believes that Pakistans guns were likely to fall silent shortly because in the light of the raging conflict between terrorists and the Pakistan Army Islamabad may not be in favour of prolonging the border conflict with India. In addition to this Islamabad by now should have realized the impact of the change of Government in India where Narendra Modi has remained reticent on the border conflict because he believes in strong action. Sources said that the BSF and the Army have been told to get ready for meeting any challenge from Pakistan and in case there was no respite from Pak firing and shelling in next 24 hours Indian security forces may step up its offensive for destroying the Pak border outposts and the launch pads for the militants. |
