SMVDU presents poster of 2014 fall meeting in AGU 12/24/2014 11:28:32 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24: Dr. Sunil Kumar Wanchoo, Assistant Professor in Physics, and Director I/c School of Innovation and Community Development in SMVD University today participated in the annual fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) which was held at San Francisco from December 15-19. Dr. S K Wanchoo presented a co-authored poster titled "Lithospheric Structure & Earthquakes beneath Kashmir Himalaya". The conference was attended by over 25000 delegates from all over the world who presented over 23000 abstracts during the event. The work presented by Dr. Wanchoo during the meeting is the preliminary outcome of the collaborative research work between SMVDU-IISER, Kolkata-University of Cambridge in Jammu and Kashmir Himalayas. As a part of this collaboration 9 broadband seismographs have already been setup and their number is expected to go up to 40 in next few years.
