DB directs CS, Chairmen PCBs & Ors to file response | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24 (JNF):In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a practicing Advocate Rajinder Singh Jamwal regarding highlighting the poor working of State Pollution Control Board, (SPCB), a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur issued notice to Chief Secretary J&K, Chairman Central Pollution Control Board, Chairman and Secretary State Pollution Control Board and directed time to file response. The petitioner has submitted that there is hardly any arrangement for testing the air or pollution control and the parties have to resort to private laboratory for obtaining reports which results in wide spread violation of law because no authenticity has been attached to the reports issued by the private laboratory. After hearing petitioner in person, the Division Bench of State High Court issued notice to Chief Secretary J&K, Chairman Central Pollution Control Board, Chairman and Secretary State Pollution Control Board and directed time to file response. |
