Take effective steps regarding removal of illegal constructions in Katra: DB to KDA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24 (JNF): In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding illegal construction in Katra, a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, directed Katra Development Authority (KDA) must take effective steps in terms of the directions already issued to remove the illegal constructions without entering into any formal notice etc. When the PIL came-up for hearing, the Division Bench observed that as per earlier order, reply on behalf of Deputy Commissioner, Reasi has filed 'denying of any illegal construction' being raised on the sealed buildings. Division Bench further observed that Adv Ajay Sharma for the petitioner requests for some time to file counter to the reply clarifying the actual position, Division bench directed that the needful be done before the next date of hearing. In the meanwhile one application has been filed by Sr Advocate L K Sharma in which he submitted that one Bashir Ahmed son of Saraj Din resident of Kun Drorian Katra Tehsil Reasi is raising construction illegally as is depicted in the photographs and he further submitted that Katra Development Authority is maintaining blissful silence. AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the KDA stated that after receipt of the application on 16/12/14, she has asked the Katra Development Authority (KDA) to file the status report, on hearing this Division Bench directed that the report be filed before the adjourned date with a copy in advance to the counsel opposite and directed Katra Development Authority (KDA) must take effective steps in terms of the directions already issued to remove the illegal constructions without entering into any formal notice etc. |
