12/27/2014 10:46:07 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 27: Claiming that 63 per cent of Kashmiri Pandits in Habbad Kadal Assembly constituency exercised their franchise in the recently held assembly polls, senior BJP leader Moti Kaul today termed it as an encouraging practice in a democratic set up.
"Out of these KP voters, about 63 per cent of them exercised their franchise, which is a healthy and encouraging percentage in any democratic set up," Kaul, who lost election as BJP candidate from Habba Kadal Assembly seat in the Valley, said.
On his return from the Valley, Kaul interacted with a large section of displaced members at Jammu and thanked all displaced members of the community along with Jammu-based Pandit voters for their "wholehearted" support to BJP candidates both in the Valley as well as in Jammu region.
Kaul said that Kashmiri Pandits have once again expressed their faith and confidence in BJP, led by PM Narendra Modi.
Analysing the response of voters of Habba Kadal constituency statistically, Kaul claimed that the voters of the constituency were reduced to just 5,500 in number due to "cumbersome" process of filling up the M Forms and rejecting the various M Forms without assigning any valid reason.
"Out of these voters about 2,800 KP voters, constituting about 63 per cent, exercised their franchise which is a healthy and encouraging percentage in any democratic set up," he said.
He claimed that Kashmiri Pandits enthusiastically supported BJP during recently concluded elections in the Valley as well as in Jammu.
