| Ongoing T-20 cricket tournament at Bhaderwah concludes | | |  ET Plus Report
Jammu, Dec 27: Continuing with its efforts for upliftment of local youths of the area by providing an opportunity to showcase their talent and to promote youth development, a T-20 Cricket Tournament organized by the Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhaderwah under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) with effect from 20 December 2014, today concluded at Shankhoja.
In the final match of the Tournament played today, Shikari Brothers defeated Shankhoja Elevens by 122 runs. A total of 16 teams participated in the Championship. The matches were played as per existing rules by league cum knockout basis. Various teams from Shankhoja, Tapri, Mathola, Benzila, Haliya, Chinote, Dhara and nearby villages participated in the tournament with true spirit of sportsmanship and displayed their skills and enthusiasm to beat each other.
Pyar Chand, the Sarpach of Shankoja inaugurated the event in presence of local villagers. The final match was played between Shikari Brothers (Chinote) and Shankhoja Elevens where Shikari Brothers (Chinote) won the match by 122 runs. The winner and runner-up teams were felicitated with trophies and medals by Rashtriya Rifles at Bhadarwah. Around 150 persons were present at the sight from nearby villages and praised the Army for the smooth conduct of the Championship. The localists also praised the initiative taken for organizing activities for youth development as such initiatives have proved beneficial in channelising the youth energy in the right direction and providing them with a platform to excel. |
