Amit Shah likely to announce new BJP team next week | | | Agencies New Delhi, Dec 27: After leading Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) on the path of victory in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir elections, now party president Amit Shah will be revamping the saffron out fit. Next week Shah will fill in the vacant posts of general secretaries and vice- presidents and restructure party cells. After the induction of three BJP general secretaries in the Union Cabinet, over half of the posts are left vacant. Sources said the BJP's national executive meet is likely to be held in Bengaluru in January. In the Cabinet expansion last month, three general secretaries JP Nadda, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Rama Shankar Katheria were bestowed with Ministerial berths. Thereby, seven post of general secretaries are vacant. After Raghuvar Das' nomination to the Jharkhand Chief Minister, one more post of vice-president will be vacant. Party vice-presidents Bangaru Datatriy Mukhar Abbas Naqvi were made Union Ministers. After taking charge of the BJP president in July, though Shah had restructured the party organisation, he did not fill all the posts. According to sources, Shah may announce the new BJP team any point of time next week. Om Mathur has emerged top contender for the post of BJP general secretary, After Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was picked up for the Union Minister, now the party has no Muslim face in the party organisation. Amit Shah may give big responsibility to Shahnawaz Hussain in the party organisation. |
