Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 11: The BJP, it has been reliably learnt, has formed a list of advisors to assist the governor. The list, by and large, comprises persons who worked tirelessly for the party during the just concluded assembly elections. According to sources, the state leadership in consultation with PMO is framing a list of people who flattened ground for BJP across the state particularly in Kashmir division during the elections. As the proposal to associate advisors with Governor is yet to get Home Minister, Raj Nath Singh's, nod the party is not only eying to gain more and more public support by developmental works in BJP bastions through its advisors, but also intends to reward the people including Kashmiri pundits who worked across the country for BJP during Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Many among the nominees, according to sources are directly in contact with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and other top leaders of BJP. They said it was not known yet whether anybody from Kashmir has been considered for the job or not. Sources said that one Kashmir based Doctor along with his associates are in Delhi these days to meet BJP top brass leadership who besides other issues pertaining BJP in Kashmir would also discuss issue of nominating advisors of Governor with Ram Madhav. If sources are to be believed BJP state leadership is planning to use government men and machinery directly from the Central government through various centrally sponsored schemes to develop basic infrastructure in their bastions in Jammu division. Besides BJP is targeting some constituencies in Kashmir division where they would construct roads, bridges and replace electricity system and work for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims. Pertinently after political parties failed to form government in Jammu and Kashmir following the fractured verdict to parties and resignation of Omar Abdullah as caretaker Chief Minister, Governor NN Vohra took reigns of the state and suspended the assembly till further orders from the President, Pranab Mukherji. |
