JAMMU, Jan.11 : JKP XI and Trikuta Cricket club registered win and enters in the next round of on going 3rd Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup for College Students and J&K Cricketers at Parade Cricket Ground, here today.
Shailender Singh SSP, CID Jammu was the Chief Guest in today's matches who was introduced with the participating teams. While speaking on the occasion he conveyed his best wishes to the participating teams for their best performance in this tournament. During interaction with the players of the participating teams he was accompanied by the Rajesh Gill Organizing secy. of the tournament .
Earlier,in the first match JKP XI defeated Eleven Star by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Eleven Star scored 83 runs in stipulated 18 overs for loss of all wkts, with Irshad (27),Sumit (18 ) & Sahil (12) were the main scorers. Shamsher Singh took 5 wickets,Rajesh Gill took 3 wickets, whereas Shashi and Pankaj took 1 wicket each.
JKP XI in reply achieved the target in 12 overs for 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Suman Koul scored 42 runs, Farooq Ahmad made 21 runs. Irshad took 2 wickets , Sumit and Tarun took 1 wicket each. Shamsher Singh decalared man of the Match.
In the second match, Trikuta XI scripted a comfortable win against friends XI.
Batting First Friends XI made 118 runs in 15 overs for 3 wickets with Naresh (55),Tripathi(37) were the main scorers. Rahul took 2 wickets, Rahul took 1 wicket. In reply, Trikuta XI achieve the target in 12.4 overs for the loss of 1 wickets with Arun Sharma unbeaten (53) and Riaz (43) were the main scorers. Sunil took 1 wicket. Arun Sharma adjudged Man of the Match.

Tomorrow the Final match of JKP New Year Veteran T20 between Sr.JKP and Choudhary cricket Club shall be played at the same venue. |
