Rahul holds Modi responsible for all ills in India
8/3/2016 10:54:07 PM
Instead of appreciating Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel for stepping down following attack on the Dalits in Gujarat the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leadership seems to play politics. Politics over the death of people, politics over the attack on an ethnic community, politics on the attack on a weaker section of the society that has been given several concessions and reservations in the constitution of India. And while Arvind Kejriwal of AAP and Chief Minister Delhi believes that attack on the Dalits in Gujarat have opened the gates for victory of AAP in the next Assembly election, the Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi has turned into a political obser ver and analyst trying to explore the genesis of the tiff between the upper castes and the Dalits. To everybody’s surprise Rahul Gandhi has held the 13 year rule of Narendra Modi responsible for the growing casteism in Gujarat. He does not blamed Anandiben because she has been in power only for two years which means that a leader who rules for a longer period sows the seed of friction and casteism. What about the 10-year rule of the Congress in India and what about Sheila Dixit's 15-year rule in Delhi state? Is Sheila Dixit responsible for the rapes, murders and tiff between the upper castes and the Dalits. To everybody;s surprise Rahul Gandhi has held the 13 year rule of Narendra Modi responsible for the growing casteism in Gujarat. He does not blamed Anandiben because she has been in power only for two years which means that a leader who rules for a longer period sows the seed of friction and casteism. What about the 10-year rule of the Congress in India and what about Sheila Dixit's 15-year rule in Delhi state? Is Sheila Dixit responsible for the rapes, murders and robberies in Delhi which have become a daily occurrence? Following Anandiben Patel's offer to resign as the Gujarat Chief Minister, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying it was his 13-year rule in the state and not his successor's two-year governance that was responsible for the terrible condition of the state, which was now embroiled in cases of atrocities against Dalits. "13 years of Modi rule, not 2 years of Anandiben are responsible for Gujarat burning. Sacrificing the scapegoat won't save the BJP," Rahul tweeted. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said his Gujarat counterpart stepped down because of the growing popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the state. In a series of tweets, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP was terrified of the AAP. "The resignation of Anandiben Patel is the result of the growing popularity of the AAP in Gujarat. The BJP is scared of the AAP in Gujarat," he said. Kejriwal also said that Patel's resignation was a victory for the AAP in the fight against corruption. Meanwhile, Congress leader Ahmad Patel said Patel's resignation is an indication of the BJP's defeat in the upcoming Gujarat assembly polls. "The Gujarat Chief Minister's resignation is an indication of BJP's sure defeat in 2017 elections," he tweeted. Which is then correct? Kejriwal or Congress leaders. It is so because Kejriwal says Gujarat Chief Minister's resignation was a victory of AAP against corruption meaning thereby that Gujarat had become a cesspoll of corrupt practices. And the Congress leaders say that Gujarat Chief Minister's resignation has opened the doors of victory for the Congress in 2017 elections. It is too premature to think of victory or defeat of one party or the other. And the time for the BJP is to resolve the crisis in Gujarat so that it keeps muslim and Dalit voters in goiod mood. Their support is essential for any party to emerge victorious. And if the BJP loses 2017 Assembly election it would amount to losing the country. A loss of a state where the BJP has remained in power for over 15 years in a major setback for Modi.
