Bijay Charak ET Report JAMMU, Aug 3: Although Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all state heads to promote Micro & Small Scale Industrial Units, so that the large army of unemployed educated youth of state could be benefited but in J&K, Bharitiya Janta Party (BJP) Ministers is throwing spanner in PM's efforts. The Power Development Department (PDD) prepared Detail Project Report (DPR) of Grid Station for Industrial Estate Digiana eight month back but interestingly, Minister concerned failed to release funds for their construction. Pleading anonymity, a unit holder informed Early Times that for the last many years, they had been demanding to set up a grid station in Digiana Industrial Estate, so that they could get quality electricity supply and finally previous government had directed to department concern to prepare a DPR of Grid Station Industrial Estate Digiana. "In the year 2015, Chief Engineer M&RE Jammu, prepared DPR for the construction of 33/11 KV, Power Receiving Station Digiana with the estimated cost of Rs. 280.7 Lakh and also submitted the same to government for further action but till date no action has been taken by the minister concerned despite repeated reminders given by the Association of Industrial Units to minister", they said, adding that the Micro & Small Scale Units located in Digiana Industrial Estate suffer badly due to un- scheduled power cuts, resulting into huge production and financial losses. "At present PDD department is providing power to these industrial units by Domestic Feeders resulting in losses to units", said an industrialist wishing anonymity, adding that following the footsteps of the predecessor, the incumbent PDD Ministers has left no stone unturned to discriminate against Industrial Estate Jammu, which clearly shows that both the previous as well as current government are two faces of same coin. |
