2 VLWs, patwari sent to teach in remote zone schools | Irregulariities in Rajouri teacher transfers | | Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 3: The discovery of major irregularities in the transfer list of teachers issued by Chief Education Office (CEO) Rajouri few days back, suggest inefficiency of officials posted in CEO's office, who transferred two village level workers (VLWs) and one Patwari to some remote zone schools. According to the transfer list, CEO Rajouri Altaf Hussain issued transfer/adjustment of 62 teachers according to CEOR/E-212690-93 dated 30/7/2016, to hard areas/zones of district, which have been suffering for want of teaching staff but three of the transferred employees are working in other departments. Already the premature transfer of nearly 70 teachers after only 10 months of stay in schools have been under criticism of teachers, who have been protesting and now a major irregularity has surfaced. As per the list in the serial number 9, Shafiq Ahmed, is shown as posted in HS Kurhad, zone Peeri has been transferred to Higher Secondary School Sadda but as per sources, surprisingly Shafiq Ahmed has been working as Village Level Worker (VLW) in Rural Development Department (RDD) and is posted in village Palanger, Thanamandi. Arjun Sharma, who falls at serial number 23 in the list, is shown as posted in Middle School Chapra zone Baljarillan and has been transferred to Middle School Poonga but Sharma has been working as VLW in Rural Development Department and has been posted in village Dhangri, block Dangri of district Rajouri. Mohammad Azeem, whose name is at serial number 41 and is shown as posted in Higher Secondary School Sangote, zone Balijarallian and has been shown as transferred to Government Higher Secondary School Sunder Gali but Azeem has reportedly been working as Patwari in Revenue department and is presently posted in block Sunderbani. The teachers have criticized the CEO and the officials posted in his office, who were allegedly, least bothered about the employees working in their departments. "These employees were selected as teachers but had resigned for joining other departments but so far their names are not deleted by the department, which indicates the inefficiency of the officers", a teacher said, alleging that if these teachers could have been transferred then there were every possibility that salaries were also being paid to these employees. An enquiry must be initiated by the department to find the irresponsible employees and the officials. CEO Altaf Hussain was not available for comments as his phone was switched off. |
