Early Times Report

Reasi, Mar 6: Garbage heaps and stench greet pilgrims at the revered temple of Baba AgarJito at Katra here as the concerned authorities particularly Tourism Department have failed to provide proper facilities to the visitors.
The temple, thronged by thousands of devotees every day, is being neglected by the district administrant and the Tourism department, which has erected huge hoarding to welcome the pilgrims at the revered shrine.
The devotees said it was unfortunate that the government has failed to provide even the basic facilities like hygienic conditions for visit at the temple.
"These garbage heaps have become a breeding ground for rodents and insects and with the rise in temperature, there is every possibility of epidemic in the area," said a doctor who visited the temple.
The devotees said the Tourism department didn't even bother to put up the issue with the administration.
"On one hand tourism department boasts about tourism here and on the other the department has failed to provide even the basic facilities," the devotees said.
Meanwhile the pilgrims have appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to personally look into the matter.
