Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 25: In an emergency meeting of senior NCP leaders met under the chairmanship of Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP chief J&K state condemned the happening in an important border town Nowshera which turned violent .Peaceful protestors were lathicharged who were holding protests to declare Nowshera as new District .The clashes occurred when thousands of protestors on Saturday morning were moving towards Sub District Magistrate office in Nowshera as they rejected govt order of upgrading SDM's to ADC's and demanded full fledge District status for which people are fighting for the last so many years. State NCP senior leaders have already supported the genuine demand of Nowshera town should be provided District status. Veteran leader Thakur Randhir Singh as senior cabinet minister who was incharge of this region upto Poonch during Chief minister G M Sadiq time said he had than recommended Nowshera to be the District to Late G M Sadiq during 1971 war unfortunately late G M Sadiq expired in Chandhigarh during war. Singh has recommended to the chief minister to grant a full fledge District to Nowshera who himself visited all these areas during 1971 war with Former minister Late Beli Ram the area contains the important villages Jhangar, Sehar, Makdi , Nambh, Kadhali , Lam , Bhawani , Kalsian , Chowki, Dhanaka, Nanial ,Rajal , Bavnoti, Siot , Kalal , Pokharni falling in the radius of 50km touching the border and the people of Nowshera -Jhangar where Brig Usman Khan of Indian army was martyred by the Pakistan forces. |
