PDP dominates BJP as ruling Coalition completes three years
3/25/2018 11:42:48 PM
Early Times Report
srinagar, Mar 25: Going by the performance of the Coalition Government that completes three years in office, it is evident that PDP has dominated its partner BJP in governance and has enjoyed lions share in power and decision making.
The PDP-BJP formed government in March 2015 and in the last three years; the BJP has been elbowed out by the PDP over several critical issues.
After being snubbed by the PDP in the last three years, the ruling BJP has now preferred to maintain silence on issues on which it had promised to deliver to the people of Jammu and Ladakh region.
In the last three years, the PDP has shown dominance over the government and has almost ignored all the issues on which the BJP contested elections and promised to people of Jammu and Ladakh region.
BJP, whose entire political narrative in J&K has been based on discrimination with Jammu region, has now maintained silence on these issues, putting its leaders in a tight spot.
The General Administration Department that works under the Chief Minister has been issuing transfer orders of bureaucrats without the cabinet approval to ensure there was no interference of the BJP.
The demand for the Union Territory status for Ladakh was part of BJP's manifesto during their election campaigning for Parliamentary and Assembly elections; The BJP had also pushed to rename the state as 'Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL)' to appease the voters of that region ahead of Assembly elections.
The BJP had demanded an impartial probe into all appointments made by the Jammu and Kashmir State Public Service Commission (PSC) during last two to three years, but nothing came through; Mehbooba Mufti led government had refused to declare holiday on the birth anniversary of late Maharaja Hari Singh, despite vehement demand of BJP and more recently, Mehbooba Mufti turned down the demand of BJP Ministers to handover Rassana Rape and murder case to CBI, clearly establishing the dominance of PDP on the coalition.
