POONCH, Mar 24: An illegal road has been constructed on forest land in Compartment No 138 Tain Chhajla, tehsil Mankote, however, the Range officer Mendhar has taken the serious note of the development.
Sources said that the Rural Development Department (RDD) is constructing a 500 mt long road on forest land by throwing the norms into wind.
Sources further said that road has been constructed on the forest land in compartment No 138 at Tain Chhajla village in Mankote on the directions of Block Development Officer, Mankote. The making cost of the road is said to be over Rs 1.5 lakh.
Taking the cognizance of the matter, the Range Officer Mankote, Azmat Hussain Shah reached the spot as soon as he received the information regarding the illegal construction of the road. He immediately ordered to stop the construction and disallowed the JCB machine to function. Though, there was a minor scuffle between the RDD employees and Forest Protection Force but later on everything was restored to normalcy. |
