Jammu, Mar 25: "If a man fails to honour the rivers, he shall not gain the life from them", a famous saying, which is the ultimate aim of a group of volunteers who worked for Save river Tawi campaign under the banner of DISHA. They have been continuously putting in their efforts over the years to keep the River Tawi clean, which is the only source of water supply in Jammu city. This organisation has dedicated itself to make river Tawi pollution free. This year again DISHA organised two day "Save River Tawi Campaign" with the mission of ZERO WASTE. The volunteers also spread the message of Refusing, Reducing, and Reusing the polythene to make the environment clean and green. During the campaign volunteers converted the collected flowers and leaves into compost using Bin composting technique under the guidance of Mrs. Anuradha Sharma, Scientist SPCB.
