GMC Jammu: Ex-Principal's loyal doc eyes key post
4/12/2018 10:56:24 PM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 12: A loyal doctor of a former Principal of the Government Medical College Jammu has now set his eyes on the post of Academic Registrar to become a close aide of the incumbent Principal.
However, officials of Health and Medical Education Department say that no one can be appointed on the post as the matter is sub-judice. And he is too junior for this post to be appointed on the post.
Since the post of Academic Registrar is lying vacant in GMC Jammu after transfer of Dr. Yashpaul Sharma to Director NHM, the junior doctor, who was once trustworthy aide of the former Principal, is leaving no stone unturned to register himself in the good books of the present head of the institute, reliable sources told Early Times.
Sources said despite being a junior in the faculty, he is trying hard to get the prime post. "He is also appeasing politicians and bureaucrats. Thus he will not find any kind of difficulty to get appointed on the prime post," said sources. "Even he is leaving no chance to come close to the incumbent Principal of the college by misguiding her that her close aide who heads a department does not know anything about the affairs."
Earlier, the junior doctor had played a vital role in mobilising doctors against the government order (No. 503/HME of 2017 dated 15-9-2017), wherein sanction was accorded in favour Dr Waseem Qureshi and Dr Yaspal Sharma against the upgraded post of Registrar, GMC Srinagar and GMC Jammu respectively in the pay band of Rs. 37400-670+GP 10,000, sources asserted.
Later, the medical faculty had condemned the government order and alleged that it was a clear violation of interfering in the teaching faculty's working.
