JAMMU, Apr 12: Jammu Kashmir Unity Foundation today organized a function to honour Dr. Megha Mahajan, a public spirited young girl, daughter of the soil, who donated Rs. 45 Lakh to Swachh Bharat Kosh, Government of India set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making India open defecation free. Prof. Nirmal Kamal, Chairperson Minister of State, J&K State Social Welfare Board was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman Panun Kashmir presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Nirmal Kamal, Chairperson Minister of State for JK SSWB appreciated the act of Dr. Megha Mahajan of donating a huge amount of Rs. 45 Lakh to Swachh Bharat Kosh, GoI for upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society. She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a hope among the youth of the country of innovative, corruption free dynamic governance. She said that youth like Dr. Megha Mahajan, who has contributed to the Swachh Bharat Kosh selflessly should come forward and contribute in Nation building. Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman commended the act of Dr. Megha Mahajan and said that more and more people are these days aware about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and are joining voluntarily to contribute in the efforts to make country open defecation free. He said that Dr. Megha Mahajan would inspire a whole lot of people to join and contribute in making Bharat a great Nation. |
