Khalsa Sathapna Diwas celebrated with religious fervor

JAMMU, Apr 14: "Khalsa Sthapna Diwas" (Foundation Day of Khalsa Panth) was celebrated today on the occasion of Baisakhi in all the Gurdwara Sahibs of Jammu with great devotion and gaiety.
The main function in district Jammu was organized at Gurdwara Chhatti Patshahi, Talab Tillo, Jammu by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu with the co-operation of entire Sikh sangat, in which large gathering of Sikh Sangat and other devotees across the Jammu city and other surrounding areas participated.
Prominent Sikh preacher Giani Baldev Singh ji of Paonta Sahib threw light on the historical importance of 1699 Baisakhi, when Guru Gobind Singh ji created Khalsa Panth and completed the process started by Guru Nanak Sahib and the selection of Panj Piaras (Five Beloved Ones) was the revolutionary beginning of equality, humanity, sacrifice and commitment. They said our best devotion on this historical day is to become Amritdhari (baptised) and strive unitedly for Chardhi Kala of Khalsa Panth. Ragi Jathas of Bhai Amarjit Singh ji Jagadhari Wale and Bhai Ravnit Singh ji from Delhi and many other local Ragi Jathas of DGPC Jammu recited Gurbani Kirtan on this occasion.
On this occasion resolutions concerning religious and political aspirations and other burning problems being faced by minority Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir were presented by Jathedar Mohinder Singh ji, Patron DGPC Jammu and president Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K and Advocate Surinder Singh.
Wwhile elaborating on the resolutions,they said that successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir have failed to do justice with our genuine issues and demands adding that all the Sikh organizations and Sikh Sangat will continue to strive for the fundamental rights of Sikh community in J&K.
