Decade on, no lecturer to teach Business Admin at 10+2 level 4/14/2018 11:44:57 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 14: Though the state government had introduced various subjects of Business Administration course in schools over a decade ago, no lecturer has been appointed yet by the School Education department, forcing the faculty members of Commerce subject to teach students of Class 11 and 12. According to officials in the School Education department, the subjects of Business Administration including Business Studies and Entrepreneurship were introduced nearly a decade back. After the introduction of subjects, the next step would have been to appoint the specialist teachers of the same subject. But the department has failed to appoint any subject teacher. "In other subjects like Medical, Non-Medical or Arts, there are separate teachers for teaching Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, English or other subjects. However, in the case of the subjects of Business Studies and Entrepreneurship, the subject teachers of Commerce subjects have been teaching for the last many years", sources said. They said the School Education department even failed to appoint contractual teachers for teaching the students. "When the subject teachers of Commerce have been teaching the subjects of Business administration, how will the students attain specialization in the subjects? How will they compete with the students of other states? How is government justifying the duties of Commerce teachers to teach other subjects", asked an official, adding that it was gross injustice with the teachers as well as students. An official of DSE told Early Times that contractual faculty is appointed against the sanctioned posts, but posts are not sanctioned for these subjects, so no teachers were appointed.
