Natraj Natya Kunj to organise 5 day National Theatre festival

Jammu, Apr 14: Natraj Natya Kunj (NNK) has decided to organize five days national theatre festival entitled 'Theatre Carnival' featuring six Plays at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu from 16th of April, 2018, daily at 5.30 pm.
The festival is being supported by Ministry of Culture, Government of India, North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, Haryana Kala Parishad, Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu. Abhishek Bharti, the festival director whose play 'Agni Barkha' will be featured in the festival, informed that this is the first time that a Theatre group in Jammu took an initiative to come out with a National Theatre Festival featuring big names in Theatre such as Padmashree Balwant Thakur, Sudesh Sharma, Ravi Mohan and Sumit Shrivastava.
The festival will open on Monday with Girish Karnad's play 'Agni Barkha'. This will follow the presentation of Vibha Rani's play 'Doosra Aadmi Doosri Aurat'. On 3rd and 4th day of the festival three plays will be featured which include, Jaywant Dalwi's 'Sandhaya Chhaya', Dharamveer Bharti's 'Andha Yug' and Pratima Sinha's 'Avaroodh'. The festival will conclude on 20th of April, 2018 with the globally acclaimed Balwant Thakur's Dogri play 'Ghumayee' which has already brought laurels and acclaim from all over the world for its highly innovative style of presentation, which is deeply rooted in the cultural soil of duggarland.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajinder Thapa Advisor of the group told that the entry to the show is free and asked theatre lovers of Jammu to witness the National Theatre Festival to make it a grand success
