Various organizations protest in Doda

Doda, Apr 14: Residents of Doda led by representatives of various social, political, religious and traders-organization today staged a protest in Doda against the rape and murder of minor in Kathua area and increasing incidents of rapes and murder cases in other states.
A procession was taken out which started from Nehru Chowk Doda and culminated at old bus stand Doda. The protesting people raised slogans against state and central government and Bar Associations of Kathua and Jammu. At old Bus stand a dharna was also staged demanding action against the culprits of murder and rape. Those who were leading the protest included leading social worker and human rights activist Abdul Qayoom Zargar, Jamat Islami member Showket Ali Mughal, President Citizen's Forum Mehboob Tak, leading social worker Ishtiaq Ahamad Dev, Naseer Khora, Chairman Beopar Mandal Doda Karamatullah Nehru, Advocate Ahsan Babar Nehr, Senior Jounalsit of Chianab valley Fiaz Pampori, Haq Nawaz Nehru and ABID Hassan Pampori.
Mehboob Tak demanded that the case of victim should be transferred to Doda fast track court as free and fair trial is not possible in a hostile atmosphere created by some lawyers and communal elements in Kathua. Tak said that the slogan of "Beti Bachao Beti Padawo" has proven a hollow statement of Narinder Modi as the present government has failed to protest the women folk of India as the incidents of rape have increased during Modi regime.
