| DC orders demarcation of Poonch Qila land | | ET Impact | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Apr 14: Taking a step towards restoring the glory of Poonch Qila building and to remove encroachment around the historical monument, DC Poonch has issued order for demarcation of the land appurtenant to the Poonch Qila building.
In order to carry out this exercise, a team has been constituted with Assistant Commissioner Revenue as the chairman and Tehsildar Haveli and EO municipality as its members.
A stipulated time period of two weeks has been fixed to carry out the exercise and submit report for further necessary action.
The civil society Poonch comprising of people from all sections of the society have also expressed their concern over encroachment around Poonch Fort and have demanded removal of the same and restoration of the pristine beauty of Poonch Qila. The repair renovation works of the Fort are in progress under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India.
The removal of encroachment shall pave way for restoration of the Beauty of one of the oldest forts.
According to sources District Administration is issuing notices to the encroachers.
The Administration has requested the encroachers to voluntarily remove encroachment and cooperate in the interest of great common good of the people of the district. |
