Strike of clerical staff continues for second consecutive day

JAMMU, Apr 24: On the second day of three days Pen Down strike the Clerical Cadre across the state observed complete Kam Choro Hartal on the call given by coordination committee Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association.
Meanwhile, the association has strongly condemned the "highhandedness of the police" in the peaceful protest of clerical cadre at Jammu. While speaking in the programme organized in support of long pending demands i.e., for removal of pay anomaly, the clerical cadre from various Government Departments from Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Udhampur, Doda, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar, Poonch, had reached Jammu and the leaders Babu Hussain Malik, Ravi Singh Bhau, Nazir Bhat, Bharat Bushan, Anil Mehta, Sukhbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ashok Singh, Yash Paul Sharma, Bharat Bushan Kotwal, Meenakshi Shama, Ravi Kumar, Mohammad Saleem, Mohammad Latief, Onkar Verma, Arun Shama, Ansuya Gupta, Umar Jan, Sewa Ram Rathore, Farida Bano, Kuldeep Kotwal, Yash Sharma, Kirpal Singh, Vikas Chander, Mukhtiyar Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Kirpal Singh, Mohd Sadiq, Naresh Sharma, Om parkash, Sandeep Singh, Shamsher Singh, Darshan Angurana, Sham Lal, Ali Mohd Uday Singh Pathania, Vijay Kumar, Mangal Singh Manohar Singh, Kathua, Mansoor Ahmed Kishtwar, Gurjeet Singh Balbir Singh from Udhampur, Zahir Abass Rajouri and others also addressed massive gathering and projected the issue regarding removal of pay anomalies.
They alleged that despite assurances, the government has back tracked and not honored its commitment even the directions of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in SWP No. 3058/2015. They condemned the use of Repressive Measure and police force on peaceful protest demonstration of clerical cadre. They added that the clerical cadre was agitating in a democratic manner demanding the government to issue orders for removal of Pay Anomalies.
They also condemned the detention of Clerical cadre leaders led by Ravi Singh Bhau, Nazir Bhat, Sammit Kotwal, Suraj Parkash, and Ashish Sharma. They alleged that Government was trying to gag the voice of clerical cadre employees who were projecting their long pending demand in democratic manner, with such genuine and justified demand, the clerical cadre has organized peaceful protest.
