Lal Singh may be 'expelled' from BJP
Kathua Ka Sach

Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24: BJP high command and the local BJP leadership are not happy with party MLA Choudhary Lal Singh. Former Forest Minister Singh, along with another BJP minister CP Ganga, was recently removed from the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP coalition government. He was made to resign on the ground that he shared dais with Hindu Ekta Manch leaders at Kootah, Kathua, and supported the demand for a CBI investigation into the alleged rape and murder of a Bakerwal 8-year-old girl in the Rassana village of Hiranagar tehsil.
CM Mehbooba Mufti the other day disclosed that she had talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and told him that both the BJP ministers had to go. In other words, it was at the behest of Mehbooba Mufti that Singh and Ganga had to tender resignation.
The BJP high command and local BJP leadership, which wants the coalition government to continue at whatever cost, even at the cost of loss of its face, had hoped that the exit of Singh and Ganga from the government would made things easy for the coalition government, but it has not happened.
While Ganga has reconciled, Lal Singh has not taken his exit from the government lightly. In fact, he has unleashed a no-holds-barred campaign both against the Chief Minister and J&K BJP chief Sat Sharma and said that he would continue to demand a CBI investigation into the Kathua case as demanding such a probe is not against the constitution and the law of the land.
Lal Singh is crisscrossing parts of Jammu province, which are represented in the Lok Sabha and Assembly by the BJP, addressing public meetings and telling the audience that he committed no wrong by visiting Kootah and supporting the demand of the struggling people of Kathua for a CBI investigation. "I didn't go on my own; I was sent by the state BJP Chief Sat Sharma," he is telling his audience and also demanding resignation of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, saying she failed to discharge her duty as Home Minister as she couldn't protect the life of the poor girl.
Lal Singh is not just demanding her resignation but also accusing the state government of dancing to the tunes of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. "It was Syed Ali Shah Geelani's opposition to the CBI probe that made the Chief Minister reject the demand of the people of Jammu," he is saying everywhere during rallies and interviews.
All this his not gone down well with the party high command as well as the PDP. Sources in the party headquarters at Trikuta Nagar inform that "the party is mulling action against Lal Singh, as he is creating problem for the coalition through the campaign he has launched against Sat Sharma and Chief Minister". "It is extremely likely that Lal Singh might be expelled from the party sooner than later," sources further say.
In the meantime, Lal Singh is scheduled to meet prominent civil society members on Wednesday to chalk out future course of action. "There is the possibility of Lal Singh floating a regional party," a source close to him said on the condition of anonymity.
