NSF reconstituted; Dr Vikas elected president

Jammu, Apr 30: The National Secular Forum (NSF) today reconstituted its State body and unanimously elected Dr Vikas Sharma as its president, during the executive committee meeting held here today.
Dr Sukhdev Singh was appointed as working president and Surjit Choudhary, Parvinder Singh as senior Vice-President while, Rishikesh Rana, Pushpinder Singh Advocate MS Qureshi and Narinder Singh, were announced as Vice-Presidents. President-SKUAST-TAJ, Dr Vikas Sharma was appointed as general secretary with additional charge of Chief-Spokesperson. Manmohan Singh was appointed as Spokesperson. Govind Vardhi, Ishtaq Ahmed, Akshaydeep, and Darpan Singh were nominated as secretaries and Neeraj as publicity secretary. Tahir Qureshi was appointed as press secretary, Varun Dogra as treasure while Pardeep Sharma, Anshu Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Munish Aharma, Akash Andotra, Ajayveer Mehata, Akash Sharma, Rakesh Slathia, Mohit Slathia, Robin, Pankaj Pathak , Shubam, Mohd Hasanain, Harshdev, Daljeet, Yasir Arafat, Amanjeet Sodhi, and Divyansh Verma were taken as executive members of the Forum.
Addressing the executive meeting, after his election, Dr Vikas Sharma exhorted upon the youth to fight for the cause of justice and overall welfare of the student community as well as burning issues of the youth. Dr Sharma said that the Governments have failed to provide effective transport policy, healthcare facilities and other basic amenities. He also said in coming days, the Forum cadre will launch rigorous campaign across the region for the cause of people.
Later, the newly constituted body of the NSF passed several resolutions unanimously regarding its future course of action which reads that Forum will work for the welfare and overall progress of student/teaching community; fight against corruption/corrupt officers in the State and to expose them; to strengthen the democratic setup and to promote secularism in Jammu and Kashmir; and fight against injustice against students in the colleges and universities.
