Reshuffle in BJP Ministries - Hopeless move
5/1/2018 11:20:10 PM
Mahadeep Singh Jamwal

The looming speculations over the continuity of alliance government in J&K for the past some time that gained momentum after resignation (pressed for by CM) of two BJP cabinet ministers over 'Rasana', ultimately subsided when curtain was raised in a dramatic pattern. What we saw after the curtain raise and now talk of the town is just 'Much ado about nothing'. Just some musical chairs have been withdrawn from underneath few hopeless functionaries and offered to stock of similar quality lying in the foul emanating storehouse of BJP. Three of BJP ministers including Dy.CM were asked to go and see and some new faces were fetched in. The arrangement unfolded by disrobing few and garnishing new faces in cabinet from its existing stock by BJP leadership in no way is going to correcting the illustration of BJP in J&K that comprehensively stand crumbled by none else than by its own ministers as well as by its MLAs in a collective exploit of its subjects. The catastrophe in the BJP is to such an extent that there are remotest chances of its recovery. The shelving of ministers from BJP quota has substantiated the accusations of inefficiency, inexperience, and affirmation of corruption, let loose by way of creating a transfer industry (largely spoken in public domain) in departments under their control.
Those inducted all are first time legislatures and there has been nothing in their cradle since their tenure as MLAs to credit and to boost their morale by inducting into cabinet. Their activities have remained confined to the level of inaugurations of shopping malls, saloons, lane and drains and at the most up gradation of transformers. They were part and parcel of the same BJP coterie that was a silent spectator, when the Jammuites were discriminated in all walks of life by PDP that was in authoritative position and will remain so in the coalition government. The present reshuffle is confined to within BJP quota and this has given strength to PDP and it has exposed BJP across the lines that BJP can be molded into any design for their power lust. Earlier it was the PDP, who by maintaining the edge in the government, has architected resignation of two BJP cabinet ministers by thrusting its will and threatening to pull out from the alliance on 'Rasana' issue. Since long the Jammuites have been expressing their deep concern about inefficient and inexperience lot of 25 MLAs, who have totally surrendered before PDP and were hedging before PDP and have completely sold out the mandate given to them. Moreover the BJP legislators well realize that they are not in the assembly by virtue of their values or leadership qualities or as a choice of voters, but as a chance and by product of 'Modi wave' in 2014. They have no option except to speak the words that are put into their mouth by PDP directly or indirectly through central leadership that is always in appeasement of PDP, seen by all others as pro-separatist party. It was forceful voice heard from across the Jammu region and within BJP inbox also that BJP should pull out as alliance partner from the government as ministers from BJP quota were not in a position to put shackles to PDP that was working restlessly to change the demography of Jammu region. It was only left over way for BJP to regain its lost ground. But here BJP leadership has failed to sense the Jammuites concern. The power lust of team BJP in Delhi has again fooled the Jammuites by branding the old product in new wrap. This way BJP itself has pushed the final nail in its coffin in Jammu and Kashmir. Just within hours of taking oath as Dy. CM, he has exposed his mind of only faithfulness to PDP. While talking to media he divulged 'Rasana is a chhoti si baat (minor issue) ------ There are many challenges like this facing the government. We should not give 'Rasana' so much 'Bhaav' (importance)", whereas all voices in Jammu are concentrating for CBI probe but denied by CM. We well keep in memory, the visionary thought of our new incumbent Dy. CM, when he boycotted the District Development Board (DDB) Jammu review meeting in 2017, chaired by dropped Deputy Chief Minister on the issue of protocol, finding his name below outgoing Dy. CM on a plaque fixed for inauguration of just a passenger shed. The Dy. CM has come up with his intentions of implementing agenda of alliance and to ensure over all development of all three regions of the state. These catchy words every Jammuites is hearing from day one of formation of alliance government in J&K and from everyone who occupy musical chairs but on ground reality all these are helpless creatures before mighty CM, who is advancing every minute to achieve its agenda and our Jammu representation just a silent spectator.
Here it becomes important to mention that two BJP ministers were removed in J&K for attending a rally organized by 'Hindu Ekta Munch' and in reshuffle, when a MLA, who too (reported) have attended the same rally is inducted as a minister. This way BJP has been caught on wrong foot. How this trickery of BJP is taken in coming days by PDP is to be observed. But I feel the incumbent will not dare to side with the sentiments of those demanding CBI probe to save his berth in the cabinet to avoid the track of two ministers sacked on the issue. On the other hand if he avoids the voice of his voters that is demanding CBI enquiry, he will definitely loose his future prospects of getting votes. So he is in between devil and deep sea position.
The BJP leadership has tried to re-establish its image by dropping those who were neck deep intolerable to Jammuites and has tried to push out a message that everything is fine in BJP by smoothly change of power batons from dropped one to new joining the race. But in practical there is much turmoil in BJP in Jammu and Kashmir and that is evident from the public contact program of earlier ministers who were compelled to resign from ministries (still on BJP) and there is open revolt against the silent mode of BJP on 'Rasana issue'. It is indirectly damaging the BJP and annoying the PDP and likely to prove not good for BJP as its agenda in absentia is to keep PDP in good mood for complete pass over of full tenure in power in J&K. As a political gimmick by Ram Madhav, he has termed the reshuffle in the cabinet as a decision to give an opportunity to new faces, after completion of three years, whereas it is world announce that the BJP has lost its ground in J&K due to its bad policies, discrimination and total surrender to PDP and allegations of corruption against its ministers. He has earlier been accused also for sheltering the corrupt BJP ministers and MLAs and fingers raised for his support to PDP. There are only two sorts of people in the politics: the efficient and the inefficient. But when we view the representation of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, we find only one sort of people and they are inefficient. It has been concluded by the society that one useless man is a disgrace for the society and Jammuites are passing through same dilemma.
Some missing links that would have worked a bit to improve the image of BJP in entire Jammu region are avoiding of many districts in representation in cabinet. Much deserving Udhampur district having two BJP MLAs of the three constituencies, left to cry only because the elected MLA of most important constituency (independent candidate) has challenged the 2014 'Modi Wave' and have shown the doors to BJP by whitening their teeth and now BJP is setting its score. The Jammu region is left completely devoid of any woman representative in cabinet. This has exposed the real mind of BJP leadership (just Modi and Amit Shah) in Delhi that always makes noise of 'woman empowerment' as a phrase for catching vote bank of this gender.
Concluding I am of the view that recent changes brought about by the BJP have failed to redeem the compassion of the people of Jammu region. The party has failed exclusively to send a persuasive directive to its common soldiery and also to the society of Jammu who have been annoyed with the BJP due to its non-performance and in protecting the expectations of common man from Jammu region. We are left with no option except to prey for the new team of BJP ministers 'God let them spare' and encourage them to do the best for one and all in the state.
