Early Times Report

Anantnag, May 1: The Jammu and Kashmir police has registered a case against National Conference Legislator for allegedly assaulting and intimidating a government employee in Sarbal area of Pahalgam.
The Police also booked the employee for intimidating and wrongfully restraining the legislator at Pahalgam near the office of Pahalgam Development Authority.
The government employee identified as Waheed Ahmad Bhat of Ashmuqam in a written complaint has alleged that Altaf Ahmad Kuloo-National Conference Legislator from South Kashmir's Pahalgam-assaulted and threatened him when he was performing his duties at Sarbal Sufi Shrine.
The incident, as per police records, has taken place last week on April 28. The employee in past has criticized legislator's political statement on social networking site Facebook. Station House Officer Pahalgam said that an FIR 9/2018 u/s 427, 506, 353 was registered against the lawmaker and at the same time another FIR 10/2018 u/s 341,506 was registered against the government employee on the written complaint of MLA. "We have started investigating the both cases' he added. NC MLA, Altaf Kuloo, however, termed the allegations of 'assault and intimidation' baseless.
"All I can say to you is that it is politically motivated. This government employee, who is actually a political worker, chased my vehicle from Sarbal. SHO Pahalgam was escorting me he knows the reality please ask him," Kuloo said and dropped the call.
