| Rejected in his homeland Kaul elevated to the rank of Chairman Board of Directors Islamic Bank Afghanistan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 1: A Kashmiri Pandit,Dalip Kaul,was formally launched as chairman of Board of Directors Islamic Bank of Afghanistan(formerly Bakhtar Bank).By profession Kaul is a chartered Accountant and having tasted member of the Governing Board of Jammu and Kashmir he was picked up as a member of the Governing Board of the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan.
Surprisingly three days after the launch of Kaul Kabul was rocked by three blasts in which scores of people were killed.Another surprise Dr Abdullh Abdullah,Chief Executive Afghanistan Government alongwith his cabinet ministers,MPs Deputy Governor Central Bank Kabul and other dignitaries were present during the launch of Kaul.
It was a serene atmosphere during the launch and the function was held at Serena Hotel Kabul.
Kaul thanked all the dignitaries who had at tended the meeting and it seems that Kaul has brought any feather to the cap of Kashmiri Pandits.
Though Kaul has not been affected by the exodus of 1990 because his father and mother lived in Delhi but he has strong roots in Kashmir where men who matter in various political circles.And such a widespread known Chartered accountant was sacked as member of the Governinig n Board of Jammu and Kashmir Bank by the sacked finance Minister,Haseeb Drabhu,Drabhu used to sing songs about his honesty.And the truth prevailed when Kaul was soon,after his sack from J&K Bank,was taken in as member of the board of di rectors of the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan and now he has been launched as Chairman that too in a distant country when Kaul was r ejected in his homeland. |
